Celebrating LITERACY WEEK

Literacy is a fundamental life skill that takes a strong focus in our teaching and learning programs at Pathways and will be highlighted with a week of activities for students in the Primary School. Children enhance their knowledge and understanding of English through a wide range of stimulating teaching and therefore celebrating Literacy week is one of the perfect arenas to empower these skills.

Our Theme:

FOLK TALES
from around the world.

Grade 3 is focussing

on the HUMOUROUS

side of these folk-tales.

There was storytelling in the lead up to the literacy week and students came out brimming with ideas which were not only encouraging but also stimulating for those little minds. All this happened in preparation for presentations in the form of role plays and puppet shows etc. through folk tales chosen by the students themselves.

The three folk tales from around the world we read last week were:

Who’s the greatest?

A Folk tale from India

The Frog Princess

A Russian Folk tale

The Frog Princess

Hiding the Treasure

A folk tale from Denmark
